Arigato!

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope you are having a wonderful last-day-of-April!  This is Lisa from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons, and I have a sweet little thank you card to share with you today.  Here it is:

I got this cute little Asian Kokeshi Doll from and the cherry blossoms background from the Silhouette Online Store.  The Kokeshi Doll was a print and cut file that I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo, and I simply added a few jewels to her for some dimension.  The sentiment (which means Thanks You in Japanese) is from the Pink by Design Let's Do Sushi Stamp Set (which I designed...hee, hee!  Sorry...still so excited!). Then, just a little ribbon, and my thank you card was all done!  I hope you like it!

By the way, did you know that Pink by Design is giving away a Silhouette Cameo?  Check out the details HERE! :)  Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Quick Mother's Day Card

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I just wanted to share a quick Mother's Day card I made for my Mother-in-Law. Here it is:

This card was so simple because I used a ready-made (or designed) Mother's Day Card from the Silhouette Online Store. How easy is that?  I just added some doodles and some jewels, and the front of the card was all done.

Then, I added another piece of matching paper to the inside so we would have a place to write our message, stamped a the sentiment using Pink by Design's Just for U Stamp Set, and added a few doodles.  Now, it's ready to ship out to my hubby's mom! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! :)

Cameo Creations Challenge: Mother's Day

Hey, everyone!  Today marks the beginning of another Cameo Creations Challenge!  YAY!  The theme of this challenge is Mother's Day (using ribbon).  Here's what I came up with for the challenge (and for my mom):

I created this card around a stamp that I've been wanting to use for my mom's card.  It comes from the Pink by Design Our Mothers set.  So, I looked in the Silhouette Online Store for a card design that would accommodate this large sentiment.  I found it here: 'thanks' card kit.  I just left off the "thanks", and I had a large space for my sentiment. Then, I added a little brown ribbon for a bit more oomph. :)  This card was super easy since it was already designed for me. Plus, I think it will be a beautiful card for my mommy. :)

For the inside, I simply cut an extra layer from the front of the card. The sentiment here also came from the PBD Our Mothers set.

Okay, now it't your turn.  Head on over to Cameo Creations to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, link up your Silhouette machine-created Mother's Day project (using ribbon).  You have 2 weeks to enter, and one lucky person will win a $15 gift certificate to Scraptastical Kreations.  I can't wait to see what you create! :)

Pink by Design April Release Blog Hop

For my SOUS April Showers post, click HERE. :)

Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Pink by Design April Release Blog Hop! I'm so glad you're tuning in, because there are so many AMAZING stamps coming out this month! We have lots of projects to share with you that showcase the newest PBD stamps, plus there's lots of awesome blog candy along the way!

If you've come from Melisa's blog, you're in the right place. If you've stumbled upon my post and would like to start from the beginning, head on over to Pink by Design.

By the way, Pink by Design is offering a grand prize for this hop: a Big Shot! Just think...if you won the Big Shot, you could use it with the new Pink by Design Dies that are coming out in this release. All you have to do to be entered for the Big Shot is visit each and every blog in the hop and leave a comment on each blog. For each comment you leave, you will get an entry. You can also share the Stamp Release on your own blog, Facebook Page or Pinterest, and leave a comment telling us you did so. You can really rack up the entries this way! :) Plus, you'll be entered to win my own little bit of blog candy (which I'll tell you about later).

Now, on to my project. I decided to make some cute little love notes using 3 of the stamps sets that are being released today. Here they are (you can see a larger pic by clicking on it):

Okay, before I go into the details of how I made these little notes, I HAVE to share some SUPER EXCITING news!!!  A few months ago, Sarah Hamer from Pink by Design gave me an exciting opportunity to try designing a stamp set for PBD, and I DID!!!  I designed two: a set of sushi-related sentiments (Let's Do Sushi) and a matching set of sushi images (Got Sushi?).  I had so much fun creating the stamp sets, and I hope you'll check them out in the PBD store.  If everything goes well, I'm hoping I'll be able to design some more stamps in the near future. :)  Whew...so glad I finally got to tell you!  I've been dying over here!! ;)  Now, on with the details of the love notes.

These are all 3.25" square cards. One super easy thing I did for these was open up digital papers in Silhouette Studio and size them to be 3" square.  Then, I just printed them out and cut them with my paper trimmer (since they were only squares).  I could have also used the print and cut feature. One card actually uses a Silhouette Studio cut file that I filled with a pattern and then printed.  Also, the stamped images were partly stamped on patterned paper and partly colored with my Copic markers.  I really need to get those things out more often...they are super fun to play with.   I'll just quickly list what I used for each little card below its picutre.

Paper: Silhouette Online Store--Sunburst Square cut file filled with Yellow Dot printable pattern

Sushi Image and Sentiment: PBD Got Sushi? Stamp Set

Fire image: found somewhere with Google...lol

Here's the inside: I used another new stamp: the Pink by Design Bamboo Background Stamp here and then added a red circle for writing space. I was hoping it might remind you a little of the Japanese flag. :)

Okay! Now, how about a little BLOG CANDY????

One lucky follower will win two Basic Grey 6 x 6" paper pads.  Here's what you need to do for a chance to win:

1.  Be a follower of my blog and leave a comment telling me you are.  Be sure to include your e-mail address.

That's it!  That's all you need to do to have a chance to win.  If you'd like additional chances, though, you can do one or all of the following:

2.  "Like" Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons on Facebook and leave a separate comment here on my blog telling me you did.  Be sure to include your e-mail address.

3.  Share the Pink by Design Stamp Release on your own blog, Facebook page or Pinterest (you can even use the pic below, if you want), and leave a separate comment telling me you did. Be sure to include your e-mail address.

4.  Post my blinky on your blog.  You can find it on the left side of this page.  Please leave me a comment with your blog address and your e-mail address.  I'd love to visit and become a follower of you, too!

Please, only US or Canadian addresses (for my little candy).  I'll choose a winner on Wednesday, April 25.  Good luck!

Oh!!!! DON'T FORGET!!!!!  Each one of your comments also enters you to win a Big Shot from Pink by Design!!!  Be sure to comment on each and every blog along the way to rack up your chances to win!

Alright, now it's your turn to hop on over to Paula's blog to see what she created. You don't want to miss it.

Rain or Shine ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge April 20

Happy Friday, everyone!  YAY!  Today marks another Die Cut Challenge over at Stuck on U Sketches.  This challenge's theme is April Showers.  I was so happy to be able to use this super cute file I found in the Silhouette Online Store and cut it with my Silhouette Cameo.  Here's my project:

Isn't that little girl in her rain gear so cute?  The file is called Looks Like Rain.  The card base came from a Thank You Card file, and the ribbon slide came from a Label Frame Tag file, both of which can be found in the Silhouette Online Store.  Oh, and that adorable sentiment came from the Pink by Design Rain or Shine Stamp Set.  I added lots of ink, some ribbon, and some doodles, and my card was all done!  I hope you like it.  :)

Now, it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, get started on your own April Showers die cut project.  You have two weeks to link up your entry at SOUS. I can't wait to see what you create! :)

Happy Birthday, Old Chap!

Happy Monday!  Today is my design team day over at Pink by Design, and I have a fun shadow card to share with you today.  Here it is:

When I saw this cute little mustache-y mushroom from the Lettering Delights Bloom and Growl Cut It Set, I knew that I had to get out my Pink by Design Mustaches Stamp Set (that's where I got the sentiment and the little stamped mustache).  The shadow card base and the banner came from the Silhouette Online Store.  The banner turned out to be a little big for my sentiment, so I added some brads to fill in the empty space.  Oh, I also stamped the circle with my Pink by Design Houndstooth Background Stamp.

Just for kicks, I added this cute sentiment from my Pink by Design Plum Perfect Stamp Set to the inside.  I'm hoping it will be a fun little surprise for the recipient of the card.

Here's another view of the card so you can see how the shadow card works.  You can flatten it out and mail it easily.

So, that's my little card...I hope you like it!  By the way, you don't want to miss the Pink by Design Ustream and Stamp Release on Friday, April 20.  There are TONS of great sets coming out, including a couple of REALLY SPECIAL ones that I can't WAIT to share with you!!!!!!  So excited!  I hope you'll stop by for the release! :)

Cameo Creations Challenge: Sports Theme

Hey, everyone!  It's time for another Cameo Creations Challenge!  The theme of this challenge is Sports, and I had a lot of fun with my project.  Here's what I made:

I just LOVE it!!! Do you ever have a project like that?  One where you stop to look at it whenever you walk by?  Well, this is one of those projects for me.  First of all, I chose green and gold to root for Baylor University, where my husband and I went to college (and also where we met).  It could also do double duty for the Green Bay Packers (my hubby's favorite football team).  I should have done another one with blue, silver, and white, because I, of course, the true Texan that I am, will always be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.  Oh, well...maybe later. :)  Anyway, on with how I made the card.

I got the cute cheerleader and football from the SVG Cuts Game Day SVG Collection.  The cheerleader's face is from the Peachy Keen Laughy Taffy Face Assortment.  I think it's just perfect for her.  I added a little gem to her bow with my iRock and some lines to her hair with some of my Copics.  I embossed the football with my Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.  I love this one...you can use it for so many things!  The cute pennants came from the Silhouette Online Store.  I added a stamp from the Pink by Design  Flying High Stamp Set to one of the pennants and sandwiched some toothpicks in between the cuts to make poles for them.  Finally, I added lots of ink and stitching lines to complete the front of  my card.  I love how it turned out!

I made the card base itself by copying the football shape, mirroring it above, and then welding the two together.  Then, I sized the welded shape a little smaller so the yellow wouldn't show from the front.  Then, I added a plain brown football on the back.  Hopefully that makes sense.  I should have taken some pics or a video of the steps.

Okay, now it's your turn.  If you haven't yet, head on over to Cameo Creations to see what the other Design  Team members created for this challenge.  Then, you can create your own sports-themed project using your Silhouette machine and link it up there.  You'll have two weeks to enter, and you could win 7 free digis from Bugaboo Digital Stamps!  I hope you'll enter...I can't wait to see what you create!!!

I'm also linking this up at Sarah Hamer Designs for Link Up Tuesday

Thanks so much for stopping by today! :)

Stinkin' of You ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge April 6

YAY!!!  It's Friday...a very GOOD Friday!  Today is my Design Team day over at Stuck On U Sketches.  We have a Spring-Themed Die Cut Challenge that's starting today.  Here's my project:

I got this sweet little skunk in the flowers from the Lettering Delights Peep Squeakers Cut It Set and cut her out with my Silhouette Cameo. Isn't she adorable???  Just perfect for spring.  The fun sentiment came from Pink by Design's Woodland Critters stamp set. I used this label set from the Silhouette Online Store for the card base.  I mirrored the shape and then welded the two together to create a card.  I inked up all of the pieces and added some doodles, and my card was all done.  I hope you like it.

Now it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck On U Sketches, and link up your own Spring-Themed die cut project. I can't wait to see what you create! :)

You're Eggsellent

Hey, everyone!  Can you believe that Easter is this weekend?  This year seems like it's flying by!  This year, I decided to make little treat bags for my daughters' teachers.  Today I want to share the one I made for my 5th grader's teacher.  Here it is:

Ha!  Isn't that little monster so funny?  The chocolate bunny-eating monster is from the Lettering Delights Easter Beasties SVG set.  I embossed him with my Tiny Dots Cuttlebug Embossing folder to add a little texture.

The sentiments came from the Pink by Design Hoppy Easter stamp set.  I just love this set...I've used it so much over the past couple of weeks!  Those adorable flowers came from the Pink by Design March 2011 Stamp of the Month set: Grow.  I tied the tag onto my project using some Divine Twine that I got in the Pink by Design Store.

The cute egg basket came from My Scrap Chick.   It's the perfect little basket to hold a few little Easter goodies. I added lots of ink to all of my cuts and a few doodles, and my project was done and ready for some candy!  I hope you like it!

By the way, did you know that there is a challenge going on right now at Pink by Design?  You just have to make a Spring-themed project using the photo below as inspiration, link it up HERE, and you could win some goodies from the PBD store!  I hope you'll check it out!  We'd love to see what you come up with! :)
