New File and FREEBIE Friday

TGIF, everyone! I hope you've been having a fabulous Friday!

Before I get to this week's new files, I want to make sure to let you know that three of my amazing Design Team members will be stepping down from the DT. I will sincerely miss having the very talented Nicole Elliott, Nanne' Harry, and Leah Schaeffer on the team. They have been with me for SO very long...especially Nicole who was on my very first DT back in 2012. So, it is with a very heavy heart that I say goodbye to these three amazing ladies. We'll all still stay friends through the magic of Facebook, but I know we all will miss seeing their talent and creativity here on the PPPR blog. Okay...now on to some happier news...

I have a sweet little set of some adorable animals in Halloween costumes! Click on the photo to find this file in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons store:

Before I show you this week's freebie, I'd like to remind you about our September Linky Party. You still have a little time to link up a project you create using Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons for a chance to win a $15 Gift Certificate to the PPPR store. You can find out all of the details and link up your project(s) HERE.

You Perk Me Up

Happy Wednesday to you!!  Nicole here today.  Hope your week is going well and if not, hey - you are halfway to the weekend!!  Today is a bittersweet post for me - this is my last post for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons design team.  I have been working with Lisa since September 2012!!  I have loved working with her and all of the different DT members these past four years!!  For my last post I made a BIG card!!

My card is a 6x6 square card and I just love all things to do with tea even though I am really a coffee drinker.  I like to collect tea cups and tea pots and love the idea of having a tea party with friends so I was inspired by this cute set from PPPR - "Tea Time Cutting Files" .  I also used a doily from the "Doilies 1 Cutting Files" and then cut it in half and layered it under my teacup.

I hope I have inspired you to be creative today :-)  Once again here are the files I used for my card.  I absolutley love all of Lisa's images because they always evoke a happy feeling with their fun facial expressions!!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by today!!

Pretty Much My Favorite

Hey all! Leah Schaeffer sharing with you today. I really wanted to play with making my own interesting background for a shaped card. Even if you keep a card a bit more simple, there are things you can do for serious impact. Like layering pattern papers using the Pocket Card 1 cutting file. I even designed the card base using this file so that the shapes matched perfectly.

I used a stamp from my stash and heat embossed the sentiment on the Sentiment Spots 3 banner shape. Some colored hemp and hearts also from my stash and I call this sweet little card done!

Picture Perfect birthday

Hi fellow crafters..
It's Nanné here today to share a fun shaped card I created using one of the camera's from the Vintage Camera cutting files..

Here is the card I created:

shaped cards are pretty simple to create using the Silhouette software.. You only need to add a few shadows around it, then flipping one image and welding them together to create the card base..
I am sure some of the other Electronic paper cutter software's share a similar feature..

I found some free fonts on my computer that I used to create the sentiment..

I was going for the flash of the camera flash using the Superhero words cutting file and
then editing the text..

and there you have a quick and simple, yet fun shaped card :)

Thanks for stopping by today
Hugs
Nanné

Sweet Wishes ♥

The world is in dire need of kindness.
I mean it.

One of the easiest ways you can do this is a card, a simple card popped into the mail. It's a lost art of kindness, do you remember how felt to get something other than a bill in the mail? I think it's so important to offer small kindness whenever you can in this life, it's not always easy, but try, always try.

I am sharing this card with you today, it's a "sweet wishes" card. It can be an all encompassing general card for many occasions

It has a few PPPR files thrown in there for good measure!

Thanks for letting me share with you today!

Silhouette Curio Stippled Strawberry Basket

Hi everyone, Leah Schaeffer here today. I hope you folks were able to have joined us this past weekend over on Facebook for our monthly inspiration hop! If not, you can start the hop here. At least to pop through and check out the projects. Ok so I had shared during the hop my very first Silhouette Curio project. And today, I have something else created using the Silhouette Curio machine but it's a totally different project!
This is not the completed project but this would be the first step done with the machine. Stippling onto canvas!
As you can see in the next photo, I started with turning the Strawberry Basket cutting file into an image filling in only shades of grey and black. I did initially start using the colors that are using when you open your file, but the end result is better if you can play with the colors (and by colors, I mean like those below). The end result you can see once you've traced the image using the Stipple feature, is on the right! I used the adapted piece in the Curio that allows you to use any pen and I used a Paper Mate Flair pen in black on canvas (as seen above).
Now as cool is that is, I decided to add some color and used my alcohol markers and colored directly over the stippling and onto the canvas!
Then end result is so neat! Also watercolored looking, almost like its a printed/dyed piece from a shop! The stippling detail with it as well adds SO much extra interest.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this today! It was a lot of work but worth it!

   Thanks for stopping in!
